I am currently in Berlin, DE for a residency at the ZKU, Center for Art and Urbanistics, researching multimedia tools for family archival and memorial.

Please also check out Dump Site (a non-traditional archive of files from trash folders), Saccade (a corporeal articulation of memory through tattoo and eye-tracking technology), Output Field (the art organization I founded), and NAC Accessibility Audit (an example of my design strategy work in accessibility of digital art).

Below is a selection of my work.

01

I’m researching multimedia tools for family archival and memorial. The first part of this research will focus on the structure and software of the file system of a modern family archive. The second part of the research will explore how 3D environments, generative art-making, and physical sculpture can turn a digital family archive into multimodal memorials. During April-May, I will be in Berlin, at ZK/U’s residency program, kicking off my research. I am actively seeking funding for this project

Dump Site is a collection of files from trash folders & recently deleted. It is a virtual landfill and digital recycling program. The things we throw away are candid shadows of the things we keep close: drafts, secrets, outtakes, likes and dislikes, significant memories, important people, inspirations. Dump Site is a public diary, a screenshot confessional. Exploring memory through the lens of discard, these second-hand files piece together a common past. Dump Site exists as a confluence of discard theory, archival theory, media theory, and memory work.

03

A 501(c)3 non-profit gathering a list of experimental artists, curators, and spaces. Through amplifying underrepresented voices in the arts, Output Field’s mission is to breach the canon & redistribute clout.

04

In collaboration with Casper Go and Sylvia Ke, I use eye-tracking data to generate tattoo designs based on sentimental imagery provided (and looked at) by clients. Playing with the permanence of tattoo and the fleeting nature of memory, I tattoo one’s impression of a photo rather than the photo itself. In this project, rapid eye movements are captured, quantified, massaged through TouchDesigner, and etched into the skin.

A physical toolkit to help visitors process grief and/or prepare for end of life for themselves or a loved one.

06

In partnership with Andy Slater, founder of the Society of Visually Impaired Sound Artists, I led a user-research project to establish both UX/UI and Strategic avenues to make New Art City more accessible. New Art City is an online exhibition platform, and Output Field’s partner.
